Tamarindo beach is located 1 hour driving from Papagayo, is one of the best south beaches to practice surf lessons, is a safe beach we also provide a surf lessons guide, surf board, wet suit & 2 hour practice surf. Las Baulas National Park / Turtle Nesting
Las Baulas National Park, is located in Playa Grande at south from Papagayo, is 1 hour away driving next to Tamarindo beach. This national park is very famous because only here in this beach around Guanacaste, is possible to see the amazing letter back turtles, the nesting begins normally from October 25th untill February 15th, is necessary to make the reservation minim one week or three days before, everyone must to give the passport number the same reservation day. We pick up from Papagayo area at 6pm to be in Playa Grande around 7pm for briefing about the turtles history in Las Baulas National Park. After the briefing everybody must to wait untill the turtles come to the beach, is not permit the beach access alone without any park guide we recommend alot patience because the time to wait to see any turtle is from 8pm untill 12am, for every turtle they permit 13 persons only for turtle so, every group must to wait for theirs calling. To see turtles for sure is not guarantied, sometimes is possible to see and sometimes is not. We recommend to bring: Any book for read & bug spray. In this place is not permit to use camera with flash & flash lights. We include drinks as water or fruit drinks.
